What is KaloTemps.com?
KaloTemps.com is a website dedicated to Dark Age of Camelot template-making. Templates are a custom set of items (like armor, weapons and jewelry) that are worn by players of DAoC (an MMORPG game). DAoC is an RvR game (Realm vs. Realm) where players take part in PvP (Player vs. Player) combat on a large scale.
Some items in DAoC are made by player-crafters and can be imbued with special bonuses and stats. Other items can be acquired through quests or boss fights. Acquiring this items and putting them together in the most effective combination is what template-making is about. Templates are important in DAoC because mixing and matching various pieces of gear, enables players to maximize their character’s stats in order to be the most effective on the battlefield.
Here at KaloTemps.com we are dedicated to creating and publishing only the best DAoC templates.
Who is Kalorian?
Kalorian is a player on the Albion/Guinevere server of Dark Age of Camelot. He has been playing many years and has perfected the art of template-making in DAoC. His templates are highly sought after because of his exceptional skill at creating high-end templates. Many of the game’s most exerienced players will seek him out for advice on building a strong template.
How do I find a template on this website?
There are many ways to browse this website. First, you can use the search function located at the top right of the page. Simply type in a few key words to describe what you are looking for. Example: Cleric Template. You can also browse through the categories listed along the left-hand side of the page or you can use the archives.
I want a custom template, how do I get one?
There are many excellent templates here on our site already. Be sure to browse through the available templates to see if you can find one that is right for you. However, if you can’t find one that suits your needs then you may submit a request to Kalorian for him to make you a custom template, through our brand new REQUEST-A-TEMP service.
I submitted a template request, now what?
Once your request for a template is received, you should get an automatically generated response email within a few minutes. You must reply to this email before our team will process your request. We do this to ensure that the email address you provided us with is valid and that you will be responsive when we contact you in the future about your template.
I replied to the automatically generated email that I got when I submitted my template request, now what?
Once you have replied to the automatically generated response email your request will usually be processed by our team within 72 hours. After your request has been processed you will receive another email from us to inform you if your request has been accepted or declined by Kalorian. However, there are many factors that play a part in this process, such as (but not limited to) the number of templates that we have being processed and real life work load (to name a few). If you don’t receive an acceptance or rejection letter in exactly three days don’t worry… we are probably just a little busy. Please wait at least a week before you start sending email inquiries.
My template request was accepted! How long will it take to get my custom template?
Basically, it will take as long as it takes. There are a lot of factors involved, like how many templates are in the queue ahead of you or how complex your template is. Some templates are just harder to build than others (especially for hybrid classes). Ultimately, Kalorian only has so much free time to spend on making templates so you’ll just have to wait until he can get to it. Please be patient and remember that there is only one Kalorian but there are many players requesting templates. If you are in a hurry, you can alway re-submit your template with a better donation offer.
How do I check the status of my template request?
You can check the status of your request, here.
What is a donation?
A donation can be any in-game item, in-game currency or in-game service. Donations are NOT “real world” money, items, or services.
Why should I donate?
1. Because creating quality templates takes a great deal of time and consideration. Kalorian doesn’t do this as a real life professional career; on the contrary, it is a hobby. And he gets tons of requests from people all the time. Some requests come from close friends, others come from random strangers that have studied his work online at various gaming websites. But each template he builds for someone (friend or stranger) is unique, and it takes time, research and skill to create… but MOST IMPORTANTLY it also takes away from his free time that he gets to spend playing DAoC.
2. The amount/value of your donation will also have a direct impact on how quickly your template will be made and whether or not it is accepted or declined. The better donation you offer, the more perks you get too!
What should I donate?
First of all, it is a donation, so that means it is voluntary and completely up to you! But if you need suggestions for what kinds of donations might be appropriate here are some examples:
1. Platinum
2. In-game Item(s)
3. Power Level Service
4. Crafting Service
Your creativity is the only limit! Just be as specific as possible about the item, quantity and location of the items. If you offer anything other than platinum and your request is accepted, the approximate value of the offer (according to Kalorian) will be assessed and your request will be prioritized accordingly.
Tip: When making your item offerings, keep in mind that Kalorian currently plays on Albion/Ywain cluster. Therefore, offering him a rare item on Midgard/Mordred probably won’t entice him to accept your offer. However, offering him a Power Level of a Thane on Midgard/Devon, might just tempt him to accept your offer. Just remember, this is a “you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” type of relationship!

Kalorian declined my request for a custom template. Why?
This could be due to a number of reasons. First, if there is currently more than five template requests in the queue, any requests that do no offer a donation will automatically be declined. Also, there is the possibility that your donation offering did not interest Kalorian and/or he felt the amount of work that would be required to complete your request was too great for his current work load to accommodate at the moment. You are always welcome to resubmit your request with a better offer or wait a while to see if he has more time to work on your template later. Please keep in mind that all template requests are prioritized as follows:
DIAMOND DONORS (100p donation)
RUBY DONORS (50p donation)
SAPPHIRE DONORS (25p donation)
EMERALD DONORS (10p donation)
TOPAZ DONORS (5p donation)
FREEBIE TEMPLATES (no donation)
